This Thursday: Another Face-to-Face Meeting!

H2 are out-and-about again this Thursday. We're going to meet at the Priory Church of St Lawrence in Blackmore. The church itself dates back to 1170 when Richard, the then Bishop of London, gave authority for the foundation of an Augustine priory at this location - more about the history on its website (see below).

Directions: Blackmore is a short distance south of the A414, approximately half way between Harlow and Chelmsford.
It's near to Ingatestone and for your sat navs the postcode is: CM4 0RN. Take a look at its website. We will meet at 7pm with our fingers crossed for fine weather.

Non-members are more than welcome to join us.
Just come along on the night -
we'll be the friendly bunch with cameras, tripods and smart-phones

Images Galore

Members this week have gone above and beyond with their photographic skill and creativity.

Along with images taken at our meeting last Thursday in Pishiobury Park, we have already had one or two images for our Summer "Song Title" challenge (more about this below). Some members have obviously been out and about in Ol' London Town too.

And then we have had a bevy of w
ildlife shots, from monkeys to mayflies, uploaded to our H2 Flickr page. And even a member using a home-made macro diffuser to shoot stunning close-up shots.

You can see many of these images in this Newsletter

H2 Summer Project: The Song Title Challenge

Our latest project to encourage and motivate our members is to create images that illustrate the following well-known song titles:

  • Lean On Me (Bill Withers)
  • A Face In The Crowd (Tom Petty)
  • The Long and Winding Road (Beatles)
  • Sound & Vision (David Bowie)
  • London Calling (The Clash)
  • Smoke on the Water (Deep Purple)
  • One in Ten (UB40)
  • Remember The Time (Michael Jackson)
  • I Have A Dream (Abba)
  • God Bless The Child (Billie Holiday)

We would love to see all members create one image illustrating and depicting each of the 10 song titles. Now this can involve us using our in-camera skills or our post capture talents. Or both.

As you can see above and below, members already have their thinking caps on; we have the Summer ahead of us to create our ten images; plenty of time for our creativity to flow - who knows what images we will think up...
