H2 Photographic Society
The H2 Newsletter

Last night was our still life practical evening, it was a very interesting night seeing how our different members approach their still life shots in so many different ways. Please do remember to post your shots from last night to our H2 Flickr group pool. I am sure like me other members would like to see the results.

This Thursday 19 March

This Thursday is our "Image rescue" evening, a chance to see what others would do with your images in photoshop or other editing products.  Please bring along some images on a memory stick and we can see how we would edit them.

There is lots of activity on our H2 Flickr page. You will see from the panels further down that we are promoting (yes, there's a prize to be won - see Fabulous Flickr February, below) and developing it as a resource for all of our members. We see our H2 Flickr page as a place to "continue the conversation" allowing the sort of discussion and learning to carry on between the club meetings. Along with members' images, recent additions are discussions on:

  • Best of the Best - images to inspire us to keep pushing the boundaries - see below panel
  • Studio Portraits - a resource for those interested in this genre
  • Club Trips - information on interesting days out for members
  • Technical Questions - where members can ask questions and gain information
Take a look.

Twitter users can find the H2 twitter feed here.  It consists of reposts of the newsletter and articles that have caught my eye.

Best of the Best

Over on Flickr the discussion of great photography, continues and is now discussing this image.

The question is why does this image work?  Remember the question is NOT do you like this image? Why not pop over to the discussion thread and make your thoughts known.
