Déjà Vu by Chris Shepherd
This Thursday...

We have a case of déjà vu this week. Or perhaps more accurately what we haven't seen before. This week we have the Zoom meeting that we were going to have last week. And last week we had the Zoom meeting that was going to be this week. Confused? You're not the only one but do read on.

Warren and Chris have teamed up to create a presentation. The title of the talk is "Things I wish I had known", which if nothing else sounds mysterious!

One of the promised elements is an explanation of how Chris shot and processed the picture above, plus a lot of lessons learned over the years.

See you all online Thursday.

H2's Exciting New Programme is Here

The programme for 2021/2 is now complete and you can view it here:

As you can see we have gone for a hybrid programme with meetings alternating between zoom and in the hall.  Zoom allows us to have speakers and judges from around the country and the hall meetings allow for socialising, plenty of practical learning and even the return of some print competitions.
Copped Hall by Paul Simpkin
Last Thursday...

...We had a surprise speaker. He is a stranger to giving presentations to H2 but we all know him personally - enough of the riddles? Yes, it was our very own Chris Shepherd.

Chris showed us a catalogue of his excellent images from recent years: his "365 Challenge" (ensuring that he'd created one strong image for every day of the year), from his visits to the 2012 London Olympics, his images from several rallies and demos that he's photographed, as well as from his many lunchtime photo-shoots.

Chris works in the City and proved that great images can be taken anywhere, of anything and in a short timeframe. Including wildlife images! His presentation had an abundance hints, tips and lessons.

He is very motivational with his enthusiasm and love of photography - one lesson that rang out loudly is that we should all get out more with our
cameras. And challenge ourselves out of our fur-lined ruts.
Thank you, Chris. A brilliant presentation
