A Sad Loss

The entire club has been shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden death of Alan Norris.

He was a lovely man and a very talented photographer, He will be sorely missed by us all.

As a tribute to him this newsletter is full of his amazing photography, taken from his Flickr portfolio.

Update

Monday was the Much Hadham village show and Jo, Mark, Lorna,  Jeff and Warren did a great representing us by creating an exhibition of our work in among the teas & cakes.
We made some good local contacts and spoke to a few local photographers.
A productive day and helpful for getting word out about the club and exhibition. Well done to all involved.

Thursday was an interesting meeting with some members popping out around the village to find some final shot.  In the hall Tony kindly setup some still life shots for people while we also had a chance to catch dice bouncing and experiments with projector portraits (harder than it looks).
Thanks to Jo for helping with the teas.
The evening ended with Malcolm talking about our dear friend Alan, a great loss to the club.

Saturday is the final chance to get your images in for the exhibition.  The judging team will need to pick what will be printed but everyone's images will be projected as well.

If you need help with Flickr please contact our Flickr admins who will be happy to help.

On behalf of the Beyond Group I would like to invite your members to our  12th Annual National  Exhibition on the 21st September, which is part of the BPE  circuit. The  Exhibition is held at the Copdock and Washbrook Village Hall, London Rd, Ipswich IP8 3JN. The doors open at 12:00 am and the presentation of awards will be at 16:00.  Entry and refreshments are free by the way.

Should any of your members like to come along it would be appreciated if you could let me know at least a week before of  the numbers, so we can ensure there will be sufficient refreshments on hand. Nothing is worse than having 1 teabag between 12!

Many thanks and look forward to seeing you on the day.

Best wishes
