We started with Heather taking us through the very basics of how layers work and how to use them. Then Geoff took us through an explanation of the "blend if" functionality. Finally, Paul took us through the functionality in Affinity. For those that missed it or want a recap, you can watch the whole thing on our Youtube Channel here.  Though it is uploading at the moment so it probably won't be available till Monday morning. Talking of Affinity, our Affinity course is fast approaching (more details below) and it looks like it is going to be really useful.  Personally, I intend to get myself a copy of Affinity so that I can follow along - who knows I might join the ranks of people abandoning the Adobe suite for this impressive (and very cheap) product.   A rest stop by Paul Simpkin Coming Soon - Affinity Workshops Our Affinity workshops will commence on Zoom on Monday 19 April at 11am.  They are designed to last no longer than an hour. Below we have shown what the first lesson will cover - the basics, er, basically. Over the following weeks we will build on these basics. The big advantage with them being live on Zoom is that members can ask questions as they learn. (The Affinity Photo software is a relative newcomer to the photo-editing market first appearing in 2015. Since then, it has been attracting users who want to purchase an app that offers state-of-the-art professional photo-editing experience. The interest in it has been bolstered by its main rival, Photoshop, becoming cloud-based and available only by a monthly subscription.)   Please note, this is for H2 members only   Happy Yew by Jonathan Saul The Mono Challenge What a creative bunch of photographers we are at H2. Do take a look on our club Flickr page to see the ideas members have invented. And for those who haven't uploaded yet, do get thinking... This challenge is designed to stretch our creativity using the various photographic manipulation software. Well, it's certainly doing that - some are real flights of fancy. We have chosen three colour images (RAW) which you can download here. The only rule to this assignment is that the finished image must be in black & white. With regard to interpretation, manipulation and the way each image is portrayed, the rules are: there are no rules . Apart from: the final image must be in Mono   (Any difficulties with downloading the original images, please contact Chris (Shepherd)) replace H2 Programme   Here is our programme for the next few weeks.
