Zooming This Week...
...On a screen near you we have Northamptonshire-based photographer, Warren Alani. Warren has several excellent talks; the one we are seeing this week is Capturing the Imagination. Here is how Warren describes the talk:
"“Capturing The Imagination” is a presentation that challenges the audience to see things differently. It covers a range of topics presented in a unique way, designed to draw the eye and to express the elements and stories within.
Images of landmarks and travel scenes are subverted to reveal the relationship between humans and the environment around us. Sports reportage is presented in a new way to uncover hidden drama and unique moments. Architectural depictions are reframed to expose unseen characteristics.
This presentation spans various aspects of my photography and personal projects, all underpinned by the idea that a shift in technique and composition can transform the standard photographs we are all used to seeing in talks, competitions and exhibitions.
“Capturing The Imagination” is about standing with one foot inside the box, and one foot outside. It represents my passion and the channelling of emotion in photography, and I hope it will fill you with the same inspiration."
Do take a look at Warren's website here. Fascinating images.
See you Thursday, H2ers

Last Week...
Last week we H2ers competed in our second (of four) DPI league competitions. Our judge for the evening was Naomi Saul who gave each image a concise and gentle critique.
Well done to all H2ers who entered their images; having our images judged an effective way to learn more about our artform.
Some of the higher-scoring images are shown in this Newsletter and the full list of scores are given below.

Our Name's Getting Out There
Back in June we won the Potters Bar Trophy in a six-way competition organised by Potters Bar & District PS.
Our club's name has now been added to the Trophy. Well done H2ers; let us continue to enjoy creating imaginative and original images to build upon our external competition successes.
And huge thanks to their president for sending us these images.
