The H2 Newsletter

Wednesday
This Wednesday was The Loughton Camera Club Anniversary Trophy Interclub Competition we came in a strong 4th position, not bad for our first interclub battle.  Final positions were:

1st Upminster
2nd Loughton
3rd Edmonton
4th H2
5th Enfield
6th Walthamstow

Best image was from Upminster. It was an excellent evening.

Last Night
Was time for some fun in the dark.

In the first half  we are grateful to Jonathan Saull (new club member and Olympus mentor),  who gave a demo on Olympus’s Live Composite mode, with Warren supporting him.  It made for an interesting feature and huge thanks go to Jonathan to rising to the occasion.

The first half ended in a really interesting interaction and some of the best inter member communication I’ve experienced.

Thanks go to Dave Hobbs for doing the teas

In the second half then the focus moved to Heather and Gordon, who set up a lovely skull, candle and smoke demo, which they lit with a ring light. Thanks to both.

Everyone played around with the torches and the light wand that Warren bought and I think it would be fair to say Fun was had by all!

Thursday
Next week is in the Church, Rector Steve Bates has kindly agreed. With a Light demo  by Steve Mason which should be interesting.
Please bring warm clothes, flasks, as we have no refreshments, tripods and gear, incl any lighting/flash equip. !

24/7
Why not try posting some of your images on our Flickr Group. It's a good chance to get feedback on your work and its where the images for the newsletter come from.

Photographic Opportunities this weekend

There should be plenty of fireworks displays about this weekend and next so its a great opportunity to get some pretty shots and to experiment.

For something quieter why not try "painting with light", we will be doing some practical sessions in the next two weeks but if you want to you get up to speed there are plenty of videos on youtube including one by our illustrious chairman.

Don't be like Mulder.
You will need a camera and tripod (if you have one) for the next meeting.
