Last Weeks Sogginess
"Any fool can take pictures in the dry"*
So Thursday evening wasn't the most well attended practical evening we have ever had, apparently, some people thought it might rain!
The intrepid group met in the carpark of the hall. Lots of familiar faces were there plus one new member: Noah, who was thinking of joining the group once he had finished building a really large boat. Splitting into two groups we headed off to the Ford and The War Memorial.
It had been lightly raining as we left the carpark but on approaching the ford it hammered down. Relentless heavy rain slammed into the road, making it difficult to tell where the road stopped and the ford started. After a few snaps there it was over to the war memorial where the sensible folk with umbrellas were doing their best to battle the rain and get a picture in the deluge. Umbrella stands for tripods are this years "must have" accessory.
As the rain continued most decided that it was time to head home. Not the most successful evening, but it was still good to get out and talk to other members of the club (whilst sharing their umbrella).
It is Saturday evening and my camera bag is still a bit damp! Did I mention the rain was biblical.
* As Baden Powell would have said of he was talking about photography not camping.
