I AM 2 by David Woods CPAGB

Atmospheric East Anglia

This week at H2 we have a talk from Justin Minns. Justin is an award-winning professional landscape photographer best known for his atmospheric images of East Anglia but his work takes him all over the world. His clients include the National Trust and English Heritage and he is a LEE Filters master ambassador.
He is an experienced workshop leader and runs popular workshops in the area for the Forestry Commission and Royal Photographic Society.
He is the author of Photographing East Anglia, a best-selling photographers' guidebook to the region. Obviously a busy man, Justin also regularly writes for photography magazines and is currently working on his next book.
To join the meeting just use the Zoom invitation below - all are welcome

Around the World
(Virtually)
At the club last week we had an engaging talk from Paul Radden. Both Paul and his wife Shirley have been long-standing members of our club until they moved up to Norfolk last year. This new virtual world that we now frequent, has again given us the opportunity to experience other people's photographic adventures in the comfort of our homes.
Paul and Shirley have travelled the world and it was stimulating to see the images of the US National Parks, Iceland and closer to home in the UK (to name just three countries featured). And to hear the stories behind the taking of the images; certainly the two of them covered many miles in the United States, sometimes using quite exotic purpose-built vehicles.
The second half of Paul's talk gave us an insight into gaining distinctions in the various photographic organisations - to learn about what is required by the Federation Internationale de L'art Photographique (FIAP) to gain their distinctions was fascinating.
Thank you Paul and best wishes in your new(ish) home
The Parish Magazine Needs You...

The Editor of Much Hadham Parish Magazine has requested from H2 members colour images to feature on the front page. She has asked for any shots that can be recognised as (or local to) Much Hadham, be they landscapes, streetscapes or buildings. Given that they are for the front page she asks for them to be 'portrait' format and she is quite happy to have a big sky or similar at the top to allow the magazine title to be placed in the top half.
This is a positive opportunity to motivate members to unfurl their shutter-finger, get out and picture our environment and with the added impetus to get their images in print. Please upload your images to our H2 Flickr page

It is with sadness that we report that David Woods passed away on Monday 20 July.  David was a long time and enthusiastic member of Harlow and H2, serving as programme secretary for many years.  He was also a judge and visited many clubs.
Heather (Clarke) is putting together a condolence card from us all and has requested that we email her with our words of sympathy ( heatherandgordon@talktalk.net ) for her to copy into the card.
Our sympathy and condolences to David's wife, Avril and their family.

The Programme

We have been working hard to get a programme together for the next few months.  Retaining what we could from the old programme and taking advantage of the fact that we are meeting over Zoom to bring in some speakers we would not normally have been able to:
30 July 2020 Justin Minns
7 Aug 2020 Outdoor Evening
14 Aug 2020 David Watts
