An actual Meeting!!

This Thursday we have arranged a practical evening. One of our members, Jonathan (Saull), has been kind enough to allow us to use his large back garden in Much Hadham. He has a barn with plenty of character (and cobwebs), a wood-pile in a ramshackle lean-to, a large grass field and the over the stream (the River Ash) there’s a copse of slim elder trees. Jonathan even has a vintage tractor for members to photograph.

With the various different locations, there are opportunities for several different genres - landscape, buildings, forest, closeup - macro even. We will have members on hand to assist; so if you want to try a bit of HDR or focus-stacking, this will be the time to experiment.

This is our first face-to-face meeting since the start of lockdown and this location is perfect - there’s plenty of space to be socially distanced but do note that there are no toilets and no seating as such. Sturdy footwear is recommended and masks are optional.

Of course a lot will depend on the weather on the day, and we will send out a further Newsletter later this week when we should have a better idea of the forecast. And we’ll give you clear directions to Jonathan’s place then, too.

Justin Minns

What a great evening last Thursday was, Full time pro landscape photographer Justin Minns delivered a truly excellent talk on landscape photography, with lots of examples from around East Anglia.  He took the time to give us some real insights into Landscape photography and it was a real master class.

Great to see lots of guests came along for his talk too.

David Woods - Funeral

David’s funeral is on Thursday 6 Aug at 10.45 at Parndon Wood, it will be a socially distanced thing with the service viewable from outside on a big screen apparently.

I am sure many of us will be there to show your respects.

The Parish Magazine Needs You...

The Editor of Much Hadham Parish Magazine has requested from H2 members colour images to feature on the front page. She has asked for any shots that can be recognised as (or local to) Much Hadham, be they landscapes, streetscapes or buildings. Given that they are for the front page she asks for them to be 'portrait' format and she is quite happy to have a big sky or similar at the top to allow the magazine title to be placed in the top half.
This is a positive opportunity to motivate members to unfurl their shutter-finger, get out and picture our environment and with the added impetus to get their images in print. Please upload your images to our H2 Flickr page

The Programme

We have been working hard to get a programme together for the next few months.  Retaining what we could from the old programme and taking advantage of the fact that we are meeting over Zoom to bring in some speakers we would not normally have been able to:
30 July 2020 Justin Minns
6 Aug 2020 Outdoor Evening
13 Aug 2020 David Watts
