Hello

Well done H2 Members for making this Monday's Skype meeting a success. Yes, there were a few "gremlins" that needed sorting but, overall it accomplished what we were hoping: it proved that our club can continue to meet and enjoy our hobby together...but in a virtual world.
May I remind members to ensure that their Skype is set to "audible only" (as lovely as it is to see your faces, it does work much better without), and then you can hear the presenter and see what is on being presented.

To those members who did not manage to get on to Monday's meet, please read the below paragraph:
Get the Skype App
In order for you to be fully involved we encourage you to download the Skype app. This can be downloaded on your desktop computer, on your laptop, your tablet and even on your smart phone. Once you have Skype on your device, click on this link: https://join.skype.com/kZD0nSv0mQ1N and you will become part of the H2 Skype contact group, and will then be able to access the presentations we have organised from the comfort of your home..
If you have problems getting onto Skype, give Paul (Major) a call on 07708 471331 and he will help.

Image Rescue Virtual Meeting on Thursday 26 March

So, tomorrow, starting at 7.45pm, we are presenting the Image Rescue evening that we were unable to run last Thursday. We have three "in house" presenters, and after each presentation there will be time for members to ask questions:

  • We have Jeff (Sinclair) who will be showing us Lightroom and specifically the radial filter, graduated filters, brushes and luminous masks. He will be followed by:
  • Chris (Shepherd) showing us Lightroom into Photoshop editing, and after Chris, if time allows:
  • Paul (Major) will "rescue" an image using Affinity

"Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand". So says the Chinese proverb. For those of us who wish to be involved with what the presenters are showing us in real time, Skype is the perfect medium; it allows us to open our photo-manipulation apps on our device, and click-along with the presenter. There is even a "screenshot" button on Skype, should you wish to save a particular part of the presentation.

So guys, at 7.45pm tomorrow, get your devices warmed up, have your photo apps open, and perhaps your favourite tipple at hand; we look forward to "seeing" you at our H2 virtual club meeting.

With best wishes
The H2 Committee

Our Flickr Group
Here is further information on our Flickr group page: we are running a themed "Winner Stays On" competition. The first theme is "In the Kitchen" and will run for the week to Thursday 2 April; we want to see your interpretation of this theme with your images put up on our H2 Flickr page. Please entitle your images "In the Kitchen", and number them 1, 2, etc., (if you are entering more than one). You do not need to put your name on them because that will show on Flickr.
On Thursday 2 April, Chris (Shepherd) will pick the winner. Whoever is the winner, "stays on" and chooses both the next week's theme and picks the winner of that competition. And so the competition will continue, week on week.
So, get your creative juices flowing...
