The Loughton Anniversary Trophy
Hello H2ers,
I have more success to announce!
Last night I, and other H2 members, attended Loughton Camera Club for their annual competition. Again, H2 were one of six local clubs to be invited to compete.
This time, each club entered 3 mono prints; 3 colour prints and 6 DPIs and, as before, I have included all our entires in this newsletter along with their scores.
The independent judge was Andy Smith from Kent, a stranger to us, but a very good judge (you'll see why I say that...read on)

The 36 prints were judged first and at the break, there was nothing in it. I have to say, Loughton put on a very welcoming buffet for their guests.
Suitably "revived" by a sandwich and a large glass of red wine (hic), the judging of the DPIs began...read on

As the DPIs were judged we took great pride as the judge held back three of ours.

By the time he'd completed judging the 36 images, there were only five held back - and three of those were ours - exciting time...

We held our breath as he scored the held-back images and was delighted to be able to record that all three of our images scored 20s. Yes!

The scores were calculated and H2 had scored 217. Loughton and Upminster both scored 219. So this time we came second with only 2 points in it.

Well Done, H2...
... members. Given the closeness between the top three clubs, it was once again our print scores that made the difference.
It is worth restating the positive: our club is now pushing forward with internal print competitions with the four league competitions and the Tony Perryman monochrome print competition.
And any of these images can then go on to win our coveted Print of the Year, meaning that the best of our best will be available for next season's external competitions.
So another successful night for our club and continuing signs that we are improving our club photography - let's keep it up H2ers
Paul Major - your external competition secretary
