Virtually There

The bad news: our face-to-face meetings at Much Hadham Village Hall are postponed for the foreseeable time.

The good news: we have Skype! Our virtual meetings are up and running.

Last Thursday's Skype meeting worked really successfully with Jeff (Sinclair) showing us how he manipulates images in Lightroom using grad. filters, radial filters and much more.
This was followed by Chris (Shepherd) showing how he takes images from Lightroom into Photoshop. Chris gave a straightforward and understandable demonstration on how layers work in PS.
This was followed by Paul (Major) showing members how he uses Affinity, covering levels, curves and how the dodge & burn effects work in this newish bit of photo-manipulation software.
Through the wonders of Skype, members could ask questions as the presentations were being displayed. We even captured the demonstrations on video to save as a club resource. You can see Chris's presentation by clicking here.
And all this in the comfort of our own homes - we're there, guys. Virtually.

Our H2 Flickr Page...

...goes from strength to strength. We encourage members to take a look at the variety and scope of the images that our members are creating and posting.

Also on our H2 Flickr page we are running a themed "Winner Stays On" competition. This week's theme is "In the Kitchen" and will run to Thursday 2 April; we want to see your interpretation of this theme with your images put up on our page. Please entitle your images "In the Kitchen", and number them 1, 2, etc., (if you are entering more than one). You do not need to put your name on them because that will show on Flickr.
On Thursday 2 April, Chris (Shepherd) will pick the winner. Whoever is the winner, "stays on" and chooses both the next week's theme and picks the winner of that competition. And so the competition will continue, week on week.
So come on, get your creative juices flowing...

New Members Welcome

Even in these exceptional times, H2 Photographic Society is providing a hub for local photographers to "meet", exchange ideas and share experiences in their mutual love of Photography. H2 embraces all photographic genres, we are always willing to learn and be open to new ideas. H2 is an inclusive club that genuinely welcomes photographers of all ages, cultures, genders and backgrounds. We embrace all forms of photography both analogue and digital and, as is being conspicuously proved now, we welcome the internet age so we can further leverage photographic training, coaching and sharing of images for the benefit of our members. Photography has, and always will be an art that uses tools of science. There are many and varied ways to approach our photographic ambitions.
However, it is a skill achieved by developing our eye;
practice over purchase, in other words.
Our club's mission is to provide photographic guidance, stimulation and opportunity; we'd love you to join us.
