This week, in the hall..

A print competition!
Prints!...we are getting back to normal, aren't we...

Yes, this week it is our annual club Still Life competition and is being held in the hall with a "real", "live" judge (as opposed to the virtual ones we have had during the past two and a bit years)

Now, the dictionary definition of a still life image is: 'an image or picture depicting inanimate object or objects, arranged by the author'.

It will be fascinating to see what our members have entered.

Help Wanted

We have a vacancy at H2 Towers for a newsletter editor, no experience necessary.

Currently, two of us share the load of producing the newsletter and it would be great to have another person on board to help.

It generally takes about an hour once a week to update it and if we have another person it would help us especially when one is unavailable. Full training will be given and you can help shape the perception of the club amongst our readers.

Last week...

...we photographed 'little people'. One member brought along models so minute, it required a macro lens just to see them! But what an interesting evening we had.

Credit must go to Lynne, our programme secretary for booking the master 'little-people' photographer, David Gilliver. We had his excellent talk a few weeks ago and it obviously inspired us. To see why, do take a look at David's website here.

But we should also congratulate ourselves on our joint creativity & innovation - at one point we had eight separate set-ups running - we had penguins in deepest Antarcticia, we had a 'banana' road for miniature cyclists...and it is amazing what can be constructed from Polo mints! Who knew!

Rules for Competition entries

Prints need to be handed in a week before the competition as previously, but a digital copy of the image must also be submitted via email.

Digital Images need to be submitted a week before via email (no more bringing cards & memory sticks in).

How to Submit Images via Email

First prepare images following the guidelines for projected images.
Create a new email to dpi@h2photo.org.uk
Set the Subject of the email to the name of the competition from the lists below.
Attach your files and send them

You should get a reply within a few minutes telling you if your entry has been successful.

Example
To enter the Summer Challenge Critique Evening competition we send an email to dpi@h2photo.org.uk with the subject SummerChallenge with your pictures attached to it.
