The H2 Newsletter

Welcome to this week's H2 Newsletter. These newsletters do seem to get quite long but there is a lot happening in the club and I want to keep you all up to date with it. Don't forget to click "show Images" in your email client to get the full experience ;)

Now the summer sessions are over, please give us your feedback so we can improve things for next year.

Exhibition

Last Saturday was the public day of our Much Hadham Timestamp Exhibition this represented the culmination of a lot of work by the committee and others.  It has been awe inspiring to see the amount of effort people have put into this project.  Mark, Jeff, Jo, Paul Major, Lorna,  Warren, Alison, Paul Radden and Andrew Wallace have put in lots of work on this and should be proud of their efforts (if i missed anyone...sorry).

We had lots of visitors during the day and a fair few sales.  The afternoon concluded with a judging of all the images (results below),  I videoed the judging and will be making that available when I get a moment.  The whole thing really raised the club profile in the local area and helped us make us of good contacts and possible new members.

Opening Night

Thursday was the first official night of the year with a good turn out of members and six potential new members (Kate, Leslie,Danielle,Dianne,Colin,Vicky) coming along to see what it was all about.

We opened with the presentation of trophies from last years followed by an audio/visual presentation of the best images of last year.

After tea Paul Radden gave an informative presentation on how the club fits into the EPF, PAGB, FIAP and the awards you can achieve as a member.

Best of Presentation
I have uploaded the https://youtu.be/2k95YVlWy_kbest of presentation to our brand new youtube channel, you can find it here though I have had to swap the music for some royalty free stuff.

For those who asked what the music was, these are the tracks I used:
Intro - TheXX
Julie Fowlis - Hug Air a' Bhonaid Mhoir (Scottish Gaelic)
Love Will Tear us Apart - June Tabor and The Oysterband
Big Blue Ball - Big Blue Ball
Running up that Hill - Placebo
Private Universe - Crowded House
Alas - Murder by Death

Upcoming Events
Next week we have "My Top 20" - presentations by 3 members talking about their favorite photos, how and why they took them.

Members also should be preparing prints for submitting into the Tony Perryman Monochrome Print Competition on Thursday 10 October; entries should be entered the week before on Thursday 3 October - please see below for new arrangements for entering prints and projected images.

For those members who have not entered mono prints before, this is your opportunity. And we are here to help; please ask one of the committee members and we can assist with everything from image preparation and presentation - come on, guys and gals, go for it.
