The New Season Starts Soon

Hopefully, you have all been out shooting for the new season and especially our summer photo challenge on the following themes
  • Weird & Wonderful
  • Monochrome
  • Much Hadham
  • British Summertime
We will be critiquing these images on our first evening back, so please send in your images by 10pm next Sunday to dpi@h2photo.org.uk with the email subject of SummerChallenge.

We will be reviewing them on our first day back in the hall on Thursday 1st September, it's a chance to try out our new competition software it would be great if everyone could submit at least one image to ensure everything is working correctly.

Membership payments
It is also time to renew your membership in the club and the details for this are in the panel below.  Membership entitles you to enter all our competitions and allows you access to our Flickr & Whatsapp groups and pays for speakers,judges and equipment.

The price has been frozen for the last 3 years so it is probably the only thing that isn't affected by inflation this year!

Important
New Rules for Competition entries



Please be aware, the hand-in process for all competitions has changed. 

Prints need to be handed in a week before the competition as previously, but a digital copy of the image must also be submitted via email.

Digital Images need to be submitted a week before via email (no more bringing cards & memory sticks in).


How to Submit Images via Email

  1. First prepare images following the guidelines for projected images.
  2. Create a new email  to dpi@h2photo.org.uk  
  3.  Set the Subject of the email to the name of the competition from the lists below.
  4. Attach your files and send them
 You should get a reply within a few minutes telling you if your entry has been successful.

 Example
To enter the Summer Challenge Critique Evening competition we send an email to dpi@h2photo.org.uk with the subject SummerChallenge with your pictures attached to it.

H2 Flickr Page: Keep 'Em Coming

Wow, we have over 3.2k images on our H2 Flickr page now. And each week members continue to upload their finest work for us to enjoy.

Flickr is a brilliant platform: it give us an insight into how and when the image was taken; what the photograph's 'vital statistics' are - shutter speed, f/stop and ISO - and the author can write information about their image.

Having a members-only page is also useful for our members to show us their work and gain positive comments and critique on them should they wish. Many are shown in this Newsletter week-on-week.

And members also have the added opportunity for the best-of-the-best to be exhibited in SHOWCASE; our Flickr page that is open for the world to view and enjoy.

We would encourage all members to upload their best work regularly.
