Advanced Photography
Talks and presentations from our own members are always some of the most enjoyable evenings. So I am sure we will all be looking forward to this Thursday's presentation by Warren Martin on the subject of "Advanced Photography".
I know Warren has been doing a lot of preparatory work for this evening so it should be a great evening of learning and discussion.
The zoom invite for the meetings is below, all are welcome to come along: Members & non-members alike.

WE HAD AN EXCELLENT “PDIOTY” LAST THURSDAY
Unusual times demand unusual solutions. And so it was with our club’s Projected Digital Image Of The Year competition. Due to the CV19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown in March, our normal internal PDI competitions could not go ahead. This meant that our members had fewer images to enter under the usual rules. However, the rules were ‘tweaked’ this year, allowing any image taken within the past year to be entered.
Also, and fortunately, we have had several weeks with many members entering into a successful ‘Winner Stays On’ competition, encouraging members to take images along different and interesting themes. So by last Thursday we had in excess of 80 images for our judge to critique.
Talking of the judge; Colin Westgate is a highly experienced judge and has many photographic qualifications to his name. He is well thought of on the club circuit and it is easy to see why. His experience showed with the number of images we confronted him with: giving accurate solid honest critique to each image in a gentle manner that hopefully, members will have learnt from. It is a compliment to the quality of members’ images that Colin awarded so many images ‘commended’ and ‘highly commended’, before even giving the top three results.
So thank you to Colin and very well done to the winners. The results are below and the winning images are gracing the pages of this newsletter.

SIZING & LABELLING YOUR IMAGES FOR PROJECTED DIGITAL IMAGE (PDI) COMPETITONS
Thank you to all members who entered their images for last week’s PDI of the Year competition. We had a huge response with in excess of 80 images for the independent judge, Colin Westgate, to critique. Congratulations to the successful authors.
To give all members the very best chance of success with their images, we have put together instructions for sizing and labelling your images here. It also includes instructions on setting up Lightroom to automatically do all this for you (something covered on our Lightroom Course - see below for more details). If you use other software and would like instructions please mail committee@h2photo.org.uk and we will see what we can do.
And if you have any questions about organising your images for any of our competitions, there will always be somebody within our club to help and assist you. Just contact committee@h2photo.org.uk
